To provide the best possible representation of coral reef locations and extent,
the images presented here use a combination of several sets of available data; coral
reef lines and polygons (where available) illustrate the location and extent of
reefs respectively, and the
Millennium Coral Reef Mapping project
has provided information (for most Pacific Island Countries and Territories) on
the area and depth of coral reefs presented here, in three depth zones; shallow,
mixed reef, deep reef.
Provided here is a selection of photos which, where possible, illustrate reef fisheries,
reef-related livelihoods and reef biodiversity in each Pacific Island Country or
